Driving Directions from Ercan Airport To Kyrenia

There are two options for driving from Ercan Airport to Kyrenia. The distances are more or less same. It depends on which region of Kyrenia you want to drive. If you going to stay in Eastern side of Kyrenia City then you can prefer the road that goes over the mountains and brings you directly to the east side of Kyrenia. This way can be preferred for those who will stay in Arapköy, Esentepe, Tatlısu or Catalkoy.

Driving from Ercan Airport to Kyrenia Through Besparmak Mountain Road

After exit from the Ercan Airport you will meet a roundabout, just drive straight along the dual carriageway.

Then you will see a signposted to Lefkosa/Nicosia. Follow the way towards left to join another dual carriageway which goes to Nicosia. This is the main road which runs between Nicosia and Famagusta.

After driving around 2 kilometres you will see a roundabout which signs Kyrenia (Girne) for the right turn. Just turn right from here and take the besparmak mountains road which will lead you directly to the entrance of Kyrenia City from eastern side.

Other way is driving through Nicosia. This road is more safer, you will drive always on the two lane motorways until you reach the Kyrenia. On this road you need pass from 4 different traffic lights that can cause a little time wasting. This road should be preferred for those who will stay in the Kyrenia city center or towards the west side of Kyrenia such as, Alsancak, Lapta or Karşıyaka.

Driving From Ercan Airport to Kyrenia Through Nicosia

After exit from the Ercan Airport you will meet a roundabout, just drive straight along the dual carriageway.

Then you will see a signposted to Lefkosa/Nicosia. Follow the way towards left to join another dual carriageway which goes to Nicosia. This is the main road which runs between Nicosia and Famagusta.

After driving around 2 kilometres you will see a roundabout which signs Kyrenia (Girne) for the right turn. At this oundabout, continue to drive ahead towards Nicosia (Lefkoşa).

Drive along this road for approximately 15 minutes and you will reach traffic lights. Go ahead and pass from four traffic lights.

When you see the Opel showroom on your left side after passing the last traffic lights, prepare for slow down for the big roundabout with Ataturk monument at the middle.

When you reach here, take the right exit towards the mountains. Continue along this road and you will come to Kyrenia City.

When you reach the main roundabout for Kyrenia itself, if you take the left exit you go to western side of Kyrenia. Just drive straight to go into the Kyrenia City center and old harbor.
